There were reportedly so many pills in the box that she said they were spilling out of the bag they were packaged in.

A stunned woman who ordered a yoga mat through the mail was shocked to find that nearly 20,000 illegal narcotic pills were delivered to her, police said.

The county's drug unit commander, Marvin Brown, believes the package was probably sent there to be picked up by a waiting dealer.

Authorities say each oxycodone-type pill had a street value of about $20, making the total drug bust worth as much as $400,000.

Agents said suspects also target homes that are usually empty during the day, so they can swipe the packages without the resident ever knowing.

Brown said it's common for drugs to be shipped to vacant homes, where someone will wait for the mail carrier and then take the package.

Brown said his team will try to trace the package and also see if they can find out where it was headed, and who was supposed to receive it. Officers said they are likely counterfeit oxycodone pressed from powder into pills in Mexico.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, told NBC Charlotte she had no idea why the pills were shipped to her.
