The chancellor hands Theresa May a sweet as she struggles to contain a cough

Prime Minister Theresa May suffered an nearly unbelievable series of unfortunate events during her keynote speech at the Conservative Party's annual conference Wednesday.

"I think there will be quite a few people who will now be pretty firmly of the view that she should resign", Vaizey told BBC Oxford in an interview on Thursday, when asked whether May should step aside.

The speech was created to rehabilitate after her General Election humiliation - losing her Commons majority in a gamble.

Even before the conference, May was facing a not-so-veiled threat to her leadership from the ambitious Boris Johnson using the Brexit card.

Britons think the Prime Minister is a "weak leader" and it would be bad for the Conservatives if she led the party into the next General Election, a Sky Data poll reveals.

That festival featured Chicago's Chance The Rapper, who also performed at Lollapalooza on August 5. The hotel was across the street from Grant Park, where the four-day festival was taking place.

May said, "This Conservative Party must pledge to renew the British dream in this country once again".

Under the party's rules, a leadership race can be triggered if at least 48 of those MPs express their support.

During her speech, May struggled with a cough and a hoarse voice that forced her to pause repeatedly.

She also had to contend with an intruder who broke through an intensive security screen to get close to the platform where she was delivering her speech to a crowded conference hall.

In one of the most weird British political speeches in a generation, May's address on Wednesday to her annual conference was ruined by a comedian handing her a bogus employment termination letter, repeated coughing fits and even by letters falling off the slogans on the set behind her.

He tweeted: "I've always liked @grantshapps but he really is doing himself, the party, and (most importantly) the country no favours at all". She said that Britain's energy market wasn't working and that it was time to stop "rip-off energy prices once and for all".

Other Conservatives took to Twitter to back their leader.

Speaking to reporters in Maidenhead, May insisted she planned to carry on with business as usual.

The Prime Minister's office has since clarified that it was not an appropriate choice of words, but that Mr Johnson's subsequent explanation should put the issue to an end.

If they don't see the male voice option, they should make sure they have updated the Google and Home applications. For now, Google Chrome OS is compatible with Android apps and is already available on the Pixel phones.

As speculation mounts over the Prime Minister's future, here is a look at how Theresa May could be replaced.
