AUSTIN TX- JUNE 10 Comedian Ralphie May performs at ACL Live

Comedian, Ralphie May, who was a Nashville resident, has died.

In 2003, May competed in the first season of Last Comic Standing, finishing in second place.

He went on to record four comedy specials for Comedy Central.

TMZ reports that May died at his private residence Friday morning, after a battle with pneumonia for 6 weeks.

Ralphie May, a larger-than-life comic known for his Southern charm and style, has died, his manager, Judie Marmel, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I'm at a loss for words to hear about the passing of comedian Ralfie May", he tweeted.

He split from his wife and fellow comedian Lahna Turner back in 2015, after she filed for divorce after ten years of marriage. The couple had two children, April June and August.
