Josh Gordon Talks Drug Use; WR Reportedly Plans to File for Reinstatement

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has not played in an National Football League game since December 2014, his NFL-mandated suspensions piling up one after the other.

The Browns do still hold his rights. Through his first two seasons in the league, Gordon was a high-magnitude quake, tearing down defenses on his way to become a first-team All-Pro and was the first receiver to accumulate 200 yards receiving in back-to-back games.

Completing his fourth known rehab stint, a 90-day program, Gordon has been staying in Gainesville, Fla., with his business manager while training with a former Olympic sprinter, Tim Montgomery, in hopes of returning to the NFL. "I thought I could keep on doing it and get away with it and get away with it". Gordon wound up with 87 catches for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns while breaking a few records along the way.

She said it was a "covert campaign to recruit girls" and described it as "reckless" and "unsettling". But those programs have not offered a path to Eagle Scout for girls.

"Not too long after I got arrested for possession of marijuana at Baylor, one of my coaches came by saying, 'You are going to get drug tested by the compliance office, '" said Gordon. The 26-year-old Gordon can re-apply to the league this fall.

"I've had someone in my family that's had substance abuse and it's very easy to point the finger at people when you don't know what they're going through", James said.

Gordon said one of his Baylor coaches gave him bottles of "detox" drink to help mask drugs in his system before taking a drug test.

"I failed the drug test because I was getting high", Gordon added with a laugh. However, Gordon also revealed that while at Baylor, the school would help him cheat drug tests.

Gordon discusses how he was given a detox drink to cover up his marijuana use so he could pass drug tests, and that the way he was treated by Baylor coaches in that regard essentially promoted his behavior and gave him a feeling of invincibility...until he ran out of detox drinks.

"And then just something click in my head at that point, it's like 'man, you did it again. You're willing to throw away everything you ever worked hard for, everything you ever had out of life.' It was so odd, but I just had a desire to stop", Gordon said.

"That was my first real experience of that authority not really being taken serious because it was kind of being guided by somebody employed by the same university", Gordon says in the video.
