The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday temporarily blocked a lower-court ruling requiring Elliott to serve his six-game suspension.

The NFL argued roughly 100 players have been suspended for approximately 500 games over the past season and a half, therefore "Elliott's claim of irreparable injury is indistinguishable from those that could be made by 100 other players". "It's bigger than football, them (NFL) trying to make me something I'm not". But the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals then vacated Elliott's preliminary injunction. This is my name and this is my reputation. This is something I'm going to have to life with beyond football. "Every day is worth fighting".

Elliott was originally suspended six games by the National Football League after a year-long investigation concluded that Elliott has physically abused then-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson in July 2016.

Elliott appealed his suspension.

But on Friday, the NFLPA's request for a brief administrative stay was granted by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

The league said the public, including NFL fans and victims of abuse, have a "strong interest" in seeing that penalties stemming from domestic abuse by NFL players are promptly investigated and that discipline is imposed in a timely manner. "Just glad to be able to go out there and play, glad to be back here with this team".

USA citizen arrested in Zimbabwe for allegedly insulting Mugabe
The US embassy in Harare confirmed that an American citizen had been arrested and said it was monitoring the situation closely. The arrest of O'Donovan is the first twitter-related arrest after the government created a cyber security ministry last month.

Lawyers on both sides did not immediately return messages seeking comment. Before the season, he was granted a preliminary injunction, which allowed him to play in the Cowboys' first five games of the season. The 2nd Circuit ultimately ruled against the players' union.

At home Friday morning, under the impression he wasn't playing this weekend after a Manhattan judge reinstated his six-game ban Monday, Elliott got a call from his agent Friday morning about the temporary hold on the ruling - allowing him to play Sunday against the Chiefs - and rushed to the Cowboys facility.
