Rand Paul at his residence Friday afternoon, causing minor injury, according to a Kentucky State Police news release issued Saturday afternoon.

However, eight surgeries over the next few months saw the midfielder's injury refuse to heal and it soon became infected. With an infection rampant, his doctor found that Cazorla had suffered enormous damage to his ankle.

Boucher was arrested and charged with one count of Assault 4th-minor injury, and taken to the Warren County Detention Center.

Police released few details about the assault or what led to the confrontation between Paul and the 59-year-old suspect arrested in the incident.

According to a statement by the Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to Paul's home about 3:30 p.m. local time Friday, where officers determined Boucher had intentionally assaulted Paul.

Warren County Regional Jail has the spelling listed as Rene Albert Bousher.

According to the Bowling Green Daily News, Paul suffered minor injury following the assault, but circumstances surrounding the incident and his injuries are now unknown. "Senator Paul is fine". The statement did not specify what injury Paul suffered.
