Working as an actor since he was 7 years old, Cutkosky has starred on the critically acclaimed Showtime series over eight seasons, growing up on screen with the rest of the Gallagher kids.

It's unclear at the moment on whether the DUI was alcohol or drug related, but it couldn't have happened at worse time for so-called "Carl".

"Shameless" actor Ethan Cutkosky was arrested for suspicion of DUI, multiple outlets reported.

TMZ notes that police sources had administered field sobriety tests before arresting Cutkosky, which the actor reportedly failed. According to Green, a chemical blood test was then performed but the results are still pending.

Cutkosky was released Thursday morning on a $5,000 bail according to police. Officers reportedly smelled marijuana in the auto during the stop, and TMZ sources say Cutkosky admitted he'd been smoking weed that night.
