USA judge stuns with prison term for rapper Meek Mill

The 30-year-old rapper was sentenced to a minimum of two years in prison on Monday (11.06.17) after violating the terms of his probation from his drug and weapons case back in 2009. She said Mill's sentence would be served in state prison, where he would be eligible for state parole supervision after two years.

Still, with Meek's previous violations he was handed a lengthy sentence this time around and off he went to jail. As a result, he was sentenced to spend three to six months in prison.

"The sentence handed down by the Judge-against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer-is unjust and heavy handed", he wrote. In March of this year, he was arrested and charged with assault which is a misdemeanor following an altercation at the St. Louis airport.

At midmorning at a West Babylon polling place, a poll worker reported that turnout was strong and added, "It's the propositions". Voter turnout in Dauphin County has been light so far, according to Jerry Feaser, county elections director.

Although both charges were later dropped, the judge said the arrests violated Mill's parole.

Mill - born Robert Rihmeek Williams - has been arrested twice this year.

What came after the judge's ruling was immediate outrage from the rap community, with a number of artists and fans calling the sentence unjust and unfair.
