EA Has Acquired Titanfall Dev Respawn Entertainment Shannon Grixti

Electronic Arts Inc. announced Thursday that it will acquire Respawn Entertainment, a videogame studio known for the "Titanfall" series of games.

Alongside news of the acquisition, EA also revealed that a new Titanfall game is now in development at Respawn, as is a an untitled Star Wars game and a virtual reality game. It may also end up shelling out a further $140 million before 2022 if Respawn hits certain targets and milestones. The company said it has agreed to pay $151 million in cash for Respawn, along with $164 million in equity awards that will vest over a four-year period.
