Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly probing the plan to kidnap a cleric put him on a private plane and fly him to a Turkish prison island- in which the two Flynn would be paid $15 million

The investigators are allegedly looking into a December meeting at New York City's 21 Club restaurant in which Flynn allegedly discussed Gulen with representatives of the Turkish government, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Flynn was sacked after just 24 days as Trump's national security adviser over misleading Vice President Mike Pence about his conversations with Russia's ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak.

Flynn, and his son Michael Flynn Jr., would have been paid as much as $15 million to bring Fethullah Gulen to Turkey, the Wall Street Journal reports.

In the wake of the attempted coup in Turkey, Ankara pressed President Barack Obama's administration to hand over Gulen, who has asylum in the United States, without a formal extradition process.

Authorities say the victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, but none of them are suffering from life threatening injuries. Several post-18 colleges are located on the campus, including the International Institute of Trade and Development.

"Mr. Cavusoglu was one of about 40 attendees at the event, which included 20-30 ambassadors to the US and about 10 other foreign dignitaries and officials".

NBC News had a follow-up report to The Journal story which includes a few additional details.

Flynn allegedly discussed the plot at a meeting in NY in December 2016, when he was a member of then U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's transition team. Zarrab is in prison in the United States on federal charges that he helped Iran skirt U.S. sanctions, NBC said. Erdogan has also pleaded with the USA government to drop the case against Zarrab.

Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. But the probe has expanded quickly to include business activities of Flynn and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort that appear unrelated to Russian Federation. Flynn had begun lobbying on behalf of Turkish government interests one month earlier.

It may also end up shelling out a further $140 million before 2022 if Respawn hits certain targets and milestones. And, it seems as if most major EA subsidiaries are going to be responsible for something Star Wars-related.

The alleged December meeting followed one on September 19 attended by people including Berat Albayrak, who is Turkey's energy minister and the son-in-law of Erdogan, and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, according to the Journal.

At the time, a spokesman for Flynn denied the allegation.

Let's note for context that Flynn, after getting caught lying about his interactions with Russian Federation, parted ways with Trump's White House just three weeks into Trump's presidency. In addition to founding and working for Flynn Intel Group, he joined his father on a trip to Moscow in December 2015 during which Flynn was paid $34,000 to speak at an event celebrating the state-sponsored news agency RT, NBC News reported.

He registered as a foreign agent on March 7. Flynn had written an op-ed in The Hill on Election Day calling on the US government to extradite Gulen.
