The mercurial midfielder, who had been one of the club's shining lights before he got injured in the Champions League opener at Old Trafford back in September, could be back against Newcastle when we play the Magpies on November 18. Even during the start of the season, he helped the team a lot.

Paul Pogba has said that Manchester United and France teammate Anthony Martial is "one of the best players he has ever seen". Since then, he has been on the sidelines as United suffered two league defeats against Huddersfield Town and Chelsea in the process.

Pogba has also continually made jokes about trying to get Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid's star forward, to join him at Old Trafford.

League denies report Roger Goodell 'furious' at Jerry Jones, other NFL owners

After the game, Pogba was present to greet the France squad as they came off the pitch and his handshake repertoire is seriously impressive.

With reports doing the rounds saying that he may be ready to make his comeback in United's meeting with Newcastle next week, Pogba has spent the global break catching up with his France teammates after their Friday night victory over Wales.

And, there is no doubt that the France players are absolutely delighted to see Pogba, who is a leader on and off the pitch for Les Bleus and Manchester United.

That list includes Pogba, Marcos Rojo, Marouane Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with all but the latter of that quartet closing in on a return for the Newcastle game.

United's players will welcome Pogba back with open arms following what has been a tough period for the club.

All in all, this is very good news for United but it also halts any excuses Mourinho was starting to have for a loss of form for his side.
