- Tampa police have swarmed a Seminole Heights neighborhood after a fourth murder happened in the area early this morning.

Police believe the four killings, none of which involved a robbery or other obvious motive, may be related.

"We think by their proximity and the manner it was done, they are linked", Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said at a Tuesday news conference.

"We believe he may have seen something or heard something that could assist us in this investigation", Interim Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said on October 26.

"We will hunt this person down until we find them", Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn said during Tuesday's press conference.

As police scoured the area for a suspect, residents were told to lock their doors and stay in place.

To make things worse for Russia's Ministry of Defense, they didn't completely crop out the "development footage" disclaimer. It later reposted the same statement with different images.

Dugan believes the suspect lives in the neighborhood, and he urged residents to be vigilant.

In the news release, police describe the suspect as a black male, 6-foot to 6-foot-2, a thin build and light complexion.

One Seminole Heights school, Edison elementary, is under a "lock-in" meaning children can be dropped off and will stay there safe until further notice.

Dugan said based on the preliminary investigation, he is comfortable to say this is related to last month's trio of unsolved murders, until new information proves otherwise.

Nebraska Avenue is closed between Hillsborough and Osborne avenues because of the investigation.

Three people were slain in Seminole Heights last month in a 10-day span.
