Garrison Keillor says he was fired over allegations of inappropriate behavior

According to USA Today, Keillor's response to the termination was explained in an email to the Associated Press as being caused by, "a story that I think is more interesting and more complicated than the version MPR heard".

MPR confirmed in a press release that it is terminating its contracts with Keillor and his media companies "after recently learning of allegations of his inappropriate behavior with an individual who worked with him".

Keillor sent a statement to the Star Tribune sharing his side of the accusation.

The allegation is a devastating blow for fans of public radio, many of whom know Keillor's deep voice as well as they know a family member's. The attorney leading the independent investigation has been conducting interviews and reviewing documents, and the investigation is still ongoing ... Franken has said he will continue to serve in the Senate. "We should be careful...not to make the world so fine and good that you and I can't enjoy living in it", he said. MPR said there are presently no similar allegations involving other staff.

MPR also said it would end distribution of "The Writer's Almanac", Keillor's daily reading of a poem and telling of literary events, and end rebroadcasts of "The Best of A Prairie Home Companion" hosted by Keillor. Keillor didn't say when the alleged incident occurred. All of my heroes got fired.

Archdiocese of Washington Challenges Metro System's Advertising Guidelines - Archdiocese of Washington
Metro adopted the policy in 2015 after anti-Islam activist Pamela Geller attempted to buy ad space on the subway. In his statement, the archdiocese said the advertisement simply conveys a message of hope.

"On the flight home, in a spirit of low comedy, Al ogled Miss Tweeden and pretended to grab her and a picture was taken", Keillor wrote, describing the first allegation made against Franken. Cindy Dina, of the Minneapolis suburb of Forest Lake, said she frequently listened when Keillor hosted the show and admired Keillor, calling him "iconic". This is pure absurdity, and the atrocity it leads to is a code of public deadliness.
