Along with our hardware partners HP and Asus, we showed the world the first full featured Always Connected PCs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset running Windows 10 and a new, optimized version of Office 365. Just that the NovaGo is running a mobile processor does not put the device into isolation. Two highlights in terms of performance are battery life and connectivity.

Rumored for next generation flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and LG G7, Qualcomm today officially announced the Snapdragon 845 processor. Always connected to a battery supporting 30 days of standby and 22 hours of active use. HP is promising to eke more than 20 hours out of the chip without a charge, and what's more, the Envy x2 and other Snapdragon-powered machines are created to deliver that kind of battery life even though they're always on and come with LTE built in. The Envy has a similarly sized 12-inch display, though its 1,920 x 1,280 resolution isn't as sharp as the MacBook, and to be fair the Envy is more of a tablet convertible while the Macbook is a more traditional laptop. Additionally, these type of PCs can run either Windows 10 or Windows 10 S: the first models from Asus and HP will actually run the more secure Windows 10 S out of the box, but customers will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free for a limited time. The Snapdragon 835 SoC is complemented by up to 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage. ASUS will offer the device for $599 ($799 for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage) first in the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Mainland China and Taiwan, and is working with T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon to offer the NovaGo. Pricing isn't yet known, but it will begin to ship this Spring. Frost didn't mention a stylus, but the machine was pictured with such a pen attached to its case, so it probably supports Windows Ink.

Rep. John Conyers Announces He's Retiring Today
I'm a co-sponsor on all of them. "We support the right to protect the constitutional rights of all involved". The veteran lawmaker said that he is also endorsing his son, John Conyers III, to fill his seat.

The back of the machine will be made from machined aluminum for a high-end look and will sport a camera that will work with the new 3D features in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Obama to address Emanuel's climate meeting Tuesday
The agreement pledges all countries to capping rises in global temperatures and to cutting carbon emissions. Some also wonder if Obama boasted about his Twitter following, which is nearly double the size of Trump's.

The quest to add smartphone-like battery life to laptops may have just got a lot shorter with HP's unveiling of the new Envy x2, complete with a Snapdragon 835 processor.

Stokes struggles with bat and ball in Canterbury debut
Batting at number four, Stokes lasted only seven balls and contributed just two runs towards Canterbury's 221. Stokes, 26, has not played since being arrested after an incident outside a Bristol nightclub in September.
