YouTube Will Add More Human Moderators To Stop Its Child Exploitation Problem

In terms of improved transparency, YouTube will create a regular report in 2018 offering additional data about the flags it receives and the actions taken to remove videos and comments that violate the company's content policies.

"Our advances in machine learning let us now take down almost 70 percent of violent extremist content within eight hours of upload and almost half of it in two hours and we continue to accelerate that speed.", said Susan.

On Dec. 4, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said in a blog post that the company would continue increasing the number of people reviewing YouTube content to more than 10,000 next year.

"Human reviewers remain essential to both removing content and training machine learning systems because human judgment is critical to making contextualized decisions on content", declared YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, who explained that "moderators have manually reviewed almost 2m videos for violent extremist content since June, helping train machine-learning systems to identify similar footage in the future", according to the news outlet. Adidas has said the situation is "completely unacceptable" while Mars, along with other companies, has pulled advertising until safeguards are in place. The company said its new efforts to protect children from risky and abusive content and block hate speech on the site were modeled after the company's ongoing work to fight violent extremist content.

The Sooner quarterback finished with the second most passing yards in the country, piling up 4,340 through the air. He's also led Oklahoma to a 12-1 record, a Big 12 championship and the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff.

Earlier this year, advertisers fled the site after ads appeared next to extremist content.

"We've heard loud and clear from creators that we have to be more accurate when it comes to reviewing content, so we don't demonetise videos by mistake".

"This will also help vetted creators see more stability around their revenue".

However, Wojcicki stressed that human reviewers remain essential to both removing content and training machine learning systems because "human judgment is critical to making contextualized decisions on content".

Heavy firing between security personnel and terrorists broke out immediately after an Army convoy was attacked on Monday. According to a police official, militants opened fire on an Army convoy, which was on its way to Srinagar .

Wojcicki says YouTube will also use technology to flag "problematic" videos or comments that show hate speech or harm to children.

"We need an approach that does a better job determining which channels and videos should be eligible for advertising", she said.

She said advances in machine learning meant Youtube could take down almost 70 per cent of violent extremist content within eight hours of it being uploaded and almost half of it within two hours.

"As challenges to our platform evolve and change, our enforcement methods must and will evolve to respond to them".
