Tributes poured in for James Dixon

Police Constable James Dixon was a roads policing officer based at Loddon Valley police station, near Reading was riding his police motorcycle when he was sadly killed along with a 91-year-old.

PC James "Dixie" Dixon, who served with the police for 18 years, was one of two fatalities after his motorbike collided with a auto.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman, was injured and taken to hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A police officer who appeared in the TV show Road Wars has been killed in a motorcycle crash.

The incident, which happened on Bath Road, has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

PC Dixon was known for his part in Sky One's Road Wars, which followed officers from Thames Valley in their work around the region.

Troyer said the shooting appears to be the result of an altercation between people who may have known each other. Police tweeted that at this point there are no reasons to believe the shooters are still on campus.

In a statement, Thames Valley Police it was "devastated" over the death of PC Dixon.

PC Craig O'Leary, chairman of Thames Valley Police Federation, tweeted: "Taken to soon, rest easy my friend".

Thames Valley Police has apologised for any offence caused by the embarrassing blunder, after the "inappropriate" post was broadcast to their 7,500 followers.
