A USA flight from New York City to Seattle has been forced to make a quick bathroom stop after the Delta plane's toilets stopped working and passengers couldn't hold it any longer.

The Boeing 757 had to divert about 200 miles off its course after its toilets stopped working and passengers couldn't hold it the rest of the way.

The scheduled six-hour flight made the bathroom stop in Billings, Montana at around 6pm local time (1am GMT) on Saturday (2 December).

Cabin crew were unable to fix the problem and the smell became unbearable for passengers seated nearby, forcing the plane to turn around near Brussels and land at Heathrow Airport.
