French President Emmanuel Macron called on all foreign powers to stop interfering in Lebanese politics and urged all Lebanese sides to fully implement a pact to keep out of regional conflicts.

Saad Hariri addressed French President Emmanuel Macron, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and other dignitaries gathered at a Paris summit on Friday in support of the tiny Mediterranean nation.

"For Lebanon to be protected from these crises, it is primordial that all Lebanese parties and all regional players respect the cardinal principle of non-interference", Macron added.

Representatives from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, along with Germany, Italy and Egypt, were present for the show of support for Lebanon, which took place against the backdrop of rising tensions in the Middle East. He say that support is the "best rampart against instability" and that the world must do more to support security, but also to provide humanitarian and economic support.

"We are now on the border separating southern Lebanon with occupied Palestine with our brothers in Hezbollah, and announce our full preparedness to stand united.against the Israeli occupier", Khazali says in the video.

The talks on Lebanon came as the Middle East was roiled by a new crisis, with US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise the disputed city of Jerusalem as Israel's capital sparking a "day of rage" by Palestinians.

Hariri said he was "personally grateful" to the French president and that Lebanon was able to weather its crisis thanks to its global partners and that the country's many parties affirmed their "commitment to dissociation from regional conflicts". Two weeks after, Hariri returned to Beirut and after a political negotiation, announced last Tuesday the decision of withdrawing the resignation.

"Lebanon's stability is not only crucial for its inhabitants but for the entire region", Macron said on Friday, demanding that the sovereignty of the small multi-faith country, long a proxy battleground between its bigger neighbours, be respected.

"The stability of Lebanon may seem like a small miracle given the many conflicts that destabilize the region", Hariri said.

"The desire of all in Lebanon is to save our democracy", he said.

Riyadh's power play in Lebanon backfired, with the various Lebanese factions coming together in order to avoid a political breakdown.

Hariri charged that Hizballah, which is member of the country's ruling coalition, has been unwilling to abide by the country's policy of neutrality in regional conflicts.

While the crisis was unfolding, Macron led diplomatic efforts to restore Hariri to his post and convince him to stay on as prime minister.

At a press conference with Tillerson, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the principle "applied to all, both inside and outside (Lebanon)".
