Alex Trebek Has Brain Surgery Takes Medical Leave From ‘Jeopardy

Jeopardy host Alex Trebek will be taking leave from the show after undergoing brain surgery last month.

On Thursday, the Canadian-born host appeared in a video on the "Jeopardy" Facebook page Thursday to announce that he'd had the surgery during the show's holiday break.

He explained that he suffered the subdural hematoma, or blood clots on the brain after the injury about two months ago. "The prognosis is excellent, and I expect to be back in the studio taping more "Jeopardy" programs very, very soon".

Trebek underwent surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on December 16. However, the upcoming College Championship will film in March instead of January and air in April.
