The company also mentioned offering a new service for making payments to friends via Google Pay and India-exclusive Google Tez. No word on whether the Google Wallet and Android Pay apps will merge into one or disappear altogether. Reports last week suggested the company was preparing a bid for leading payments provider Softcard as it looks to expand the capabilities of Google Wallet and take on the likes of Apple Pay.
