Matt Nagy to be Named Chicago Bears Head Coach

It was the Bears' third introductory press conference for a head coach in five years.

Matt Nagy, who was introduced as the 16th head coach in Chicago Bears history on Tuesday, was on the Kansas City Chiefs' sideline less than 48 hours after he was hired to his new post.

A college quarterback at Delaware, Nagy will replace John Fox, who was sacked following three seasons as head coach and a record of 14-34. Assuming that Nagy been with Reid for a very long time, he may have learned some things from Reid that he can bring to the Bears.

This year, there was a lot more to talk about than just "who are you wearing" at the Golden Globes red carpet. While almost everyone adhered to a black dress code to promote the cause, three women noticeably did not.

Not only does Nagy have to find a top defensive coordinator, but it's imperative that he hire quality line coaches on both sides and a quality quarterback coach.

Chiefs fans are understandably upset with where they are right now, and some of them might be happy the 39-year-old Nagy is gone given this new information.

"He thinks a little different from Coach (Reid) and kind of adds to that, where now you're getting some of the spice that's not your typical West Coast offense", Smith told the Kansas City Star. But now Nagy is flying solo - and he just aced his simulator test in front of the media by saying the failure in that loss was on him. Before going to Kansas City in 2013, Nagy also served as an assistant under current Chiefs head coach Andy Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2008 to 2012.

Nagy, who first became a full-time coach in 2009, wanted to be an National Football League head coach. That list includes John Harbaugh, Doug Pederson, Sean McDermott, and Ron Rivera. But those growing pains are natural for any first-time head coach, especially one who will have a lot on his mind when the offense has the ball. However, half of the coaches in this year's playoffs have three years or less of head coaching experience. After all, in their eyes, we now know that this is the rotten scoundrel who failed to give Kareem Hunt more than five carries after the first quarter when the Chiefs were up 14-0.

In Chicago, the former quarterback at DE and then the Arena Football League will be trying to develop Trubisky, last year's No. 2 overall draft pick. Trubisky didn't show much during his rookie season, but he wasn't asked to under John Fox's annoyingly conservative offensive scheme. However, he had just seven touchdown passes to go along with seven interceptions and 10 fumbles. Clearly, the Bears loaded their candidate dance card with more offensive-minded coaches, as maximizing their possible franchise quarterback - Mitch Trubisky - is of paramount importance. In his defense, the Bears were lacking in established receivers, an area they'll need to address this offseason.
