Logan Paul may face 'further consequences' from YouTube

Here's a timeline of the whole debacle.

But YouTube's Twitter remarks aren't the only thing Paul will have to deal with. But the video service came under fire for not shelling out a more serious punishment, which led to its decision this week to drop Paul from its platforms.

Paul posted the video with a man's body on 31 December, triggering widespread criticism. According to Japanese folklore, the Aokigahara is a Japanese forest that is infamous for being the site where its visitors could encounter a dead body.

The company said in a statement on Thursday that Paul's new video blogs were also on hold after he shared a video that appeared to show a dead body in Japan's Aokigahara Forest, a place known for its high number of suicides. "Yo, are you alive?" The video included close-ups of the unidentified victim and at one point the team started going through the poor bloke's possessions on the ground. "Are you fucking with us?"

On Tuesday, Youtube also took to Twitter to post an open letter directed toward its community. A Change.org petition calling for YouTube to delete Paul's channel had over 484,689 signatures at the time of publication.

As the backlash grew, Paul took down the video.

Paul issued an apology, stating that it was a first for him and he didn't do it for views as "I get views".

YouTube's action doesn't mean that Paul has been banned from the channel.

Despite trying to make amends on more than one occasion, Logan Paul managed to become the comic book villain literally.

A week back, Paul also apologized for posting the suicide video, and acknowledged deleting the video after the social media outcry. "I'm disappointed in myself". He admitted that he made a grave mistake and is ashamed of himself. It was a person in their network who allowed the video to go up and be up without a warning. If a video is graphic, it can only remain on the site when supported by appropriate educational or documentary information and in some cases it will be age-gated. "None of us knew how to react or how to feel", the star said in a video message. "And for that, I am sorry".

While YouTube admitted in its statement that it had "taken [them] a long time to respond" on the issue, the company did not divulge the reason behind the wait.
