Calif. Man Held for Shooting Killing Mother After Video Game Argument

Officers in Ceres have arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed his own mother after an argument.

When the victim went to check on Nicholson, the pair began to argue.

Nicholson was in his room that night playing a game, according to police in Ceres, California, when something upset him and he began to yell. His mother, 68, went to check on him.

He then blamed his mother for getting him riled up and threatened to kill both his mother and father, Lydia and Loren, according to police.

His father, Loren Nicholson, 81, wrestled the gun out of his hands. Police say he grabbed a nearby handgun that was in the Nicholson home and shot two rounds into the wall, then shot his mother in the head. According to a family friend, Loren immediately grabbed the gun and emptied it and called the police.
