The successor of Xiaomi Redmi series, Redmi Note 5 is set to launch on 14 February.

Back in Xiaomi brought the top-selling Redmi Note 4 and the budget beast is now due for an upgrade. The smartphone is expected to compete directly with Honor's recently released 9 Lite (review), which starts at Rs 10,999 for base 3GB/32GB variant.

Later this month, we also expect Xiaomi India to launch both these devices in the Indian market.

There is a chance that the smartphone unveiled will not be the Redmi Note 5.

The Redmi 5 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with 3GB/ 4GB and 32GB/ 64GB of inbuilt storage.
