Annual traffic increased 5.5 per cent to 88.2 million passengers, compared to 83.6 million in the previous year, operator Dubai Airports said in a statement on Monday. Interestingly, as per reports, Indians continue to dominate the top spot with 12.1 million passengers arriving at Dubai airport past year, which was up to 5.4 percent on 2016.

The airport began serving six new carriers in 2017, including SalamAir, Badr Airlines and Air Moldova.

India was by far the largest country market for the airport with a 13.7 percent share of passenger numbers, or 12,060,435.
