Chief Bradley said a Papillion Airways aircraft carrying a pilot and six passengers crashed in the Quartermaster Canyon sometime around 5:20 p.m. Three passengers died following impact, and another four people were critically injured, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Federal authorities are expected to investigate the incident.

Local authorities say at least seven people were on board the helicopter, said Kenitzer, adding the chopper sustained "substantial damage".
