-It was pretty much the same old thing for the Hawkeyes in their recent road struggles with the only exception being that after stinking it up in the first half, this time they didn't make some sort of stab at making the game respectable in the second half. MSU hasn't been great at taking care of the ball this year, but against Purdue, the Spartans turned the ball over just six times, which was pivotal.

As McCaffery noted postgame, he shot 11 free throws in the game, one more than Iowa did.
