All hell is about to break loose, Zuma's wife warns

Earlier, African National Congress President Cyril Ramaphosa said talk of an exit plan between himself and the president of the republic are in the final phase. It is Madiba's example that should inform our approach to the tasks that we must undertake.

Ramaphosa, one of the richest black South Africans, has had a hard relationship with Zuma since he left his business career and returned to full-time politics five years ago, and became deputy president in 2014.

Unlike Zuma, Ramaphosa was not driven into exile for opposing apartheid, which some of the party's more hardline members hold against him.

Ramaphosa, a 65-year-old lawyer and one of the richest black South Africans, has pledged to revive the flagging economy and clamp down on the corruption that has become synonymous with the Zuma era.

Spokesman Pule Mabe declined to comment on whether the meeting of the National Executive Committee, which has the power to instruct Zuma to resign, would discuss Zuma's political future. However, he said it is important that these discussions are managed with "care and purpose". The two have quarreled in recent months, with Ramaphosa publicly criticizing Zuma's decision previous year to fire his respected finance minister, Pravin Gordhan, and his failure to tackle corruption.

Cape Town - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa says Nelson Mandela's centenary marks a new beginning for South Africa.

"It is the interests of you, our people, that must be put first, and not the interests of anyone else", he said.

"There is no disagreement about where we want to go (on Zuma) but the tactics on how to do that is the responsibility of leadership", Mantashe told the rally. "Comrades, as you want closure, we will be doing so by keeping our eyes on what is in the interest of all our people and how we continue to unite the nation".

The celebration will take place at the Grand Parade at noon.

He said 2018 will be the year of continuing Mandela's legacy of fighting corruption, and that those who are corrupt, and stealing from the poor, will be brought to justice.

Reich agrees to become Colts HC
If Reich leaves as expected, Pederson likely would consider promoting running backs coach Duce Staley to offensive coordinator. Luck may still be on the mend from his shoulder injury, but landing Reich would be an outstanding hire for the Colts to make.

"We will at the same time continue to resist any form or attempt to capture our state institutions for the self-enrichment of a few. It offers us an opportunity to return our struggle to the path along which Nelson Mandela led us".

"We will rebuild the confidence of our people in public institutions and restore the credibility of those elected to serve in those institutions".

Ramaphosa also used the occasion to call on South Africans to reflect on the things that had gone wrong in the past and to make sure they do not happen again.

The ANC, in power since the end of the repressive, racist apartheid regime in 1994, has been thrown into crisis by an increasingly chaotic transfer of power from the incumbent president to his deputy and rival.
