The 36-year-old former Suits actress joined her groom-to-be Prince Harry as they made their first outing as a couple to the Scottish capital on Tuesday.

The royal couple were warmly welcomed by members of the public, before being officially greeted by the Band of the Royal Marines and The Royal Regiment of Scotland's lovable mascot - a Shetland pony named Cruachan.

She was even gifted with a number of red roses - thought we're not too sure what Harry would have had to say to her admirers.

Markle wore a blue tartan Burberry coat and Veronica Beard pants with a Strathberry bag. She's also not the first royal female to wear the iconic pattern in Scotland.

Harry and his bride-to-be started the visit with a walkabout, meeting well-wishers before heading inside the historic fortress to watch as the One O'clock Gun is fired, a tradition started in 1861 to mark time for ships in the Firth of Forth. The café supplies food to Homeless people across Scotland and employs many who have been homeless themselves.

Meghan and Prince Harry spent about 25 minutes greeting members of the public outside Edinburgh Castle before they paid a visit to the Social Bite centre, a Scottish charity for the homeless.

Markle's solo visits, confirmed to ABC News by sources close to Markle, are reminiscent of the secret visits Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana, paid to various charities during her lifetime.

After a few minutes, she was seen sitting under her own power, and was soon walking without assistance, albeit gingerly. Sweeney, 24, is competing in her first Olympics after missing out on a spot in the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

From there, they visited the Palace of Holyroodhouse - the Queen's official residence in Scotland - where they attended a reception to celebrate youth achievements, marking Scotland's Year of Young People 2018.

They're not the first celeb couple to visit Social Bite, with Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney making past appearances. They have visited Nottingham, Wales and Brixton.

The singer has spoken out before about being more than happy to perform at the royal wedding, saying on record when being asked about whether he'd like to sing at the wedding, "Yeah, why not".

Sadly, Markle will have to live vicariously through this Twitter user and other royal family fans when it comes to brightly colored manicures.
