The Trump administration wants to invest roughly $150 million next year as a start to helping ready private industry to assume responsibility for activity in low Earth orbit.

Researchers are trying to figure out if the space station could last beyond its current lifespan, which is set to run into 2028, the Washington Post reported.

But the gyros are not able to change the station's altitude and the USA segment does not include any thrusters or fuel storage tanks.

The proposal envisions a future for the station in low-Earth orbit, where NASA is "one of many customers of a non-governmental human space flight managed and operated enterprise" at the ISS.

Nokia 8 Gets Android 8.1 Oreo Update
As per the latest Android distribution chart , only 0.3 per cent of all active Android smartphones have received the update. The update is rolling out over the air and so it'll take a few days before all Nokia 8 units get the notification.

Donald Trump and many of his climate-conservative supporters find that the U.S. space agency spends too much money and energy to observe and study our planet, and especially its climate, instead of doing something to explore the space.

Any use of the station as a more commercially focused research platform would require Russian cooperation, and it's far from clear the Russians would be willing to extend operations beyond 2024 in any case. Last month, as reports circulated about NASA pulling the plug on the station, Mark Mulqueen, Boeing's space station program manager, said "walking away from the International Space Station now would be a mistake, threatening American leadership and hurting the commercial market as well as the scientific community". Mr Trump wants to increase Nasa spending by 3% next year.

According to USA government, the proposed $150 million will be used to create a programme to help prepare private companies or commercial entities to take over the ISS operations over the next seven years, as reported by BBC.

The space station is an global partnership, and it's not clear what privatizing the US portion would mean for the other countries. "As a fiscal conservative, you know one of the dumbest things you can to is cancel programs after billions in investment when there is still serious usable life ahead", he said, though he qualified that he was open to "reasonable proposals".

Liverpool's Roberto Firmino vows to make FC Porto 'suffer'
I don't think we're going to change much, we're just going to do what we've done all season. Firmino, 26, has enjoyed a fine campaign, scoring 20 goals in all competitions this season.

Moreover, this notional timeline for a lunar program start has little or no actual budget attached to it, and there are no details in this document about whether such a program would include robust global partnerships, or the extent to which private-partnerships would be utilized.

"The ISS is built for science and human exploration, it's not built for profit seeking", quipped Andrew Rush, the chief executive of Made In Space.

But private companies have made it clear that they are not yet prepared to be fully involved with the station by the time USA funding ends in 2024, and are wary of accepting the risks of fully supporting the station without the government support.

The president's budget proposal, including NASA's portion, was obsolete even before it was made public, but it provides a view into the administration's priorities. Mr. Lightfoot had this to say about the President's new budget for NASA.
